Cheese Wedding
Cakes
Over
the years we here at Bermic have been getting more and more requests for these
special wedding cakes.
For
some couples they choose to have a cheese wedding cake to totally replace the
traditional tiered cake. After a
lovely 3 course meal its always nice to have a little break then have cheese
with biscuits – so this wedding cake will be thoroughly enjoyed.
Others,
would use the tiered wedding cake as a focal point in the evening meal or even
with their late night buffet.
Whatever
the use – this novel idea is sure to be a talking point amongst guests and
highly memorable.
Not
only are we being asked for wedding cakes, but these tiered cheese cakes are
being used for birthdays, anniversaries, special events etc.

Designing
Cheese Wedding Cakes
To start the
process off we like to ask some simple questions as this will tell us the rough
weight of cheese, types to choose from, colours, whether that cheese is
available etc.
Initially we need
to know:
We
do not provide any decorations or cheese boards for the cheese cakes. We will
provide the cheese you require in state ready to eat so that you and your
guests can enjoy.
We
like to make your wedding day as special as possible so do talk to us about
that 'Unique Cheese Wedding Cake'.
What Cheeses?
Not every cheese is
suitable for a Cheese Wedding Cake.
The best cheeses to use are whole cheeses as they are normally round and
of even shape.
Different cheeses
come in different sizes, colours and weights.
Choose:
·
Colour/Appearance
of rind exterior
·
British
Cheeses &/or Continental Cheeses
·
Taste
of Cheese
·
Blue
or mottled vein cheese
·
Milk:
Cow/Goat/Ewes etc
·
Weight
What we aim to do
is to match your cheese requirements so that you can make a 'tiered cake of
between 3 to 5 different layers' or to have it arrange on a cake stand. Some cheeses come already cut in rounds
i.e. Stilton rings, Shropshire blue rings, etc.
Every cheese
wedding cake is unique as you choose what cheese you require, how many, colour,
taste etc.
Cost?
Initially we like
to ask if there is a budget so we can work within this parameter.
The cost of a
tiered cake can range from £80.00 to in excess of £500.
All cakes are
unique and their costs will not be known until the cheeses have been chosen and
the weights taken.

Suggestions
Heres a few we made
up in the depot. Please remember
these have the wrappings on them, so the external rind will be darker in some
cases or more mottled than you can see in the photo. You can choose from any of these suggested cakes or make one
up yourself!
